In 2020, after a souped-up coronavirus apparently escaped a U.S.-subsidized lab in Wuhan, China, world governments, the Regime Media, and Leftist social media launched a campaign of fear and repression. As a physician, I wrote about it here [A Doctor Reflects on the Plandemic, by Barton Cockey, Intellectual Takeout, September 22, 2021]. Nearly all humanity was compelled to accept Totalitarian “emergency” measures, including face masks, closing businesses and churches, arbitrary distancing rules and one-way supermarket aisles, and a brand-new “safe and effective” but experimental “vaccine.” Alphabet agencies—CDC, FDA, NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases—Fauci’s agency) etc.—seized the medical system. America’s medical Establishment simply surrendered to the merger of medical practice with the managerial state. Bad as that was, the crackdown on dissenters—doctors, nurses, and public figures who resisted the “emergency measures,” not least the unsafe, ineffective vaccines—was something I personally had never seen before, and which was even more menacing. That, and the promulgation of provable falsehoods about the anti-virus measures and vaccines, showed that Totalitarians have seized not only the machinery of government where medicine is concerned, but also the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, as I recently wrote, Totalitarians now control the medical profession, from hospitals and medical schools to professional associations. This alliance is something quite new in American history.
Consider all the firings, resignations, and early retirements. As of July, New York City had dismissed more than 1,750 dissenting employees [NYC employees fired for not getting COVID vaccine grows to more than 1,750, by Susan Edelman and Rich Calder, New York Post, July 23, 2022]. Mayo Clinic pink-slipped 700 of its employees because they refused the experimental mRNA “vaccine” [Mayo Clinic Fires 700 Employees for Refusing COVID Vaccine, by Carolyn Crist, WebMD, January 6, 2022]. At Houston Methodist Hospital, 153 “doctors, nurses, medical technicians, and staff members” refused the vaccine mandate and resigned or were terminated in June of 2021 [Hospital Workers Fired, Resign Over Vaccine Policy, by Carolyn Crist, WebMD, June 23, 2021].
Other MDs and allied professionals with prescribing privileges have been persecuted and threatened because they dared to recommend ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine as early treatment:

Multiply these by a factor of thousands or tens of thousands to get a picture of the loss of manpower. Additionally, this exodus from the profession represents a selective purge of independent thinkers and principled practitioners. Sadly, but not surprisingly, those who resisted were a small minority—in the case of Houston Methodist, 153 out of 26,000. It takes courage to stand up to the massed minions of medical mediocrity, and those who have done so are paying the price as cautionary examples.
A rare model of such resolve is Dr. Peter McCullough, a prominent academic physician and board-certified internist and cardiologist. He developed and promoted a protocol for early treatment of COVID and raised concerns about the safety and efficacy of the so-called “vaccines.” As a result, the American Board of Internal Medicine is threatening his certification, and the Baylor hospital system brought a lawsuit against him [COVID-19 expert Dr. Peter McCullough sued by Texas-based health system, by Pierre Boralevi, Lifesite, August 4, 2021].
Says McCullough, who has lost professorships and editorships:
…[t]hey are attacking one of the top people in medicine, and in the attack, it says “You have made public statements that may lead to someone not taking a vaccine.” That’s actually what’s stated in the letter. So, this is under the pretext that people should be taking vaccines, that there shouldn’t be any fair balance or any discussion on risk and benefits.
And they picked out five statements that I made under oath in the Texas Senate. Let me tell you what, when you give Senate testimony…you raise your hand and [promise to] say the whole truth, nothing but the truth. And you’re going to answer the questions to the best of your ability, which is what I did.
I am now in a process of professional reprisal for sworn statements under oath. This should be a warning to every nurse, every engineer, every lawyer, everybody who now is trying to help America or [is] involved in some process where statements made under oath can lead to professional attack.

The public face of Official Science during the COVID crisis was Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases [NIAID] for 42 years, with an instinct for self-aggrandizement. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has summarized the dodgy doctor in his book The Real Anthony Fauci, which I strongly recommend for its analysis of the deep institutional corruption of the medical-military-industrial complex. The final chapter even lifts the lid on the link between “vaccine development” and the bioweapons industry, with a summary of two decades of globalist “biosecurity” exercises that served as the template for the program of medical Totalitarianism under which we now live.
Fauci will step down from running NIAID in December, but denies that an anticipated GOP probe of his activities—including the lies he told a U.S. Senate committee about dangerous gene-forwarding experiments at the lab in Wuhan, China—are the reason [Fauci says threat of GOP investigations did not affect decision to step down: ‘Doesn’t faze me,’ by Joseph Choi, The Hill, August 23, 2022].
I believe him. As the front man for a very large syndicate, he has nothing to fear from the Republicans, most of whom are owned by the pharmaceutical industry. Rather, the official lies will simply flow from a younger mouth, and the same Regime Media will amplify them, as it silences all dissent.

And what are those lies?
And so on.
All of the italicized statements above are false, but the Biden Regime and the entire medical Establishment carry on as if they were true.
To take just one example, scientific evidence for the antiviral efficacy of off-label treatment with generic drugs such as Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is now quite extensive (The mechanisms of action of ivermectin against SARS-CoV-2—an extensive review, by Asiya Kamber Zaidi and Puya Dehgani-Mobaraki, The Journal Of Antibiotics, December 21, 2021). The evidence even includes a paper a dozen years ago by Ralph Baric, who is linked to the potentially perilous gene-forwarding experiments performed at the lab in Wuhan, which is believed to have created the pathogen that went global after it escaped (Zn2+ Inhibits Coronavirus and Arterivirus RNA Polymerase Activity In Vitro and Zinc Ionophores Block the Replication of These Viruses in Cell Culture, by Aartjan J. W. te Velthuis, Sjoerd H. E. van den Worm, Amy C. Sims, Ralph S. Baric, Eric J. Yet the Food and Drug Administration continues to claim these drugs are dangerous, and the federal government denies access to them. Pharmacies cannot or will not fill prescriptions. You can’t even find pleasant, apple-flavored ivermectin for horses at Tractor Supply.
In the spring of 2020, people with no expertise in pharmacology suddenly trumpeted that HCQ causes cardiac arrhythmias and that Ivermectin is “horse medicine.” Of course, these new experts were all Democrat voters and mask-wearing virtue-signalers. As good members of what Joseph Sobran called the progressive Hive, they did their part in suppressing public awareness of effective therapies that might jeopardize the emergency-use authorization for Pfizer and Moderna’s experimental gene therapy shots.
Speaking of those shots Muriel Bowser, Washington, D.C.’s mayor, announced that “unvaccinated students will not be allowed in school,” then reversed herself when she learned how many black kids aren’t vaxxed [DC Delays School Vaccine Mandate After Daily Signal Report, by Douglas Blair, Daily Signal, August 26, 2022].
But many colleges are still demanding that students get the jab [What Colleges Require the COVID-19 Vaccine?, Best Colleges, August 24, 2022]. Threats or inducements obviously violate the principle of informed consent, but that hasn’t stopped college administrators from coercing healthy young people—at very low risk from the SARS-CoV2 virus—to take an ineffective and risky experimental injection in exchange for an education. Big Pharma has a lot of money at stake.
Expect the experts to be busy this fall, explaining why normal rules of ethics don’t apply.
The hobnail boot of the despot has lifted a little this summer, but I expect that it will stomp down again in the coming months.
So, are we looking at politicized medicine? Medical issues have long been an object of political dispute. Abortion, for instance, has been a factional totem for Left and Right for 50 years. But the Diversity, Inclusion, Equity (DIE) regime and the Covid tyranny are largely bipartisan. Trump has not distinguished himself as a credible opponent of either.
Or do we see medicalized politics? Consider this: The Left has long attempted to place “gun violence” under the purview of the Centers for Disease Control so that a supposedly independent, science-driven agency could advance the anti-Second Amendment agenda.
The one-sidedness of these abuses of medicine and science is striking. Where is the political opposition?
We are seeing something worse than merely politicized medicine or medicalized politics. An unscrupulous drug industry and its clandestine bioweapons collaborators now control federal watchdog agencies [Another Biowarfare Coverup, by Barton Cockey, Unz.com, February 26, 2022]. Hospitals, medical schools and universities are in thrall to the Woke Triune God of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity—DIE.
VDARE.com Editor Peter Brimelow has argued that what is now under way in America is a communist coup. And certainly in its supranationalism, race denialism and anti-white Cultural Marxism, this DIE–Big Pharma alliance is unmistakably on the Left. But in terms of its economic structure—using government power to privatize profits and socialize losses in the interest of favored corporate oligopolies and interest groups—it is more like (ironically given the Biden Regime’s current crude smear of the bumbling GOP with the term ”semi-fascism” ) what emerged in the 1930s as “fascism.”
