10/04/06 - A New York Reader Explains Population Density To A Canadian Reader

From:  Matthew Richer [e-mail him]

VDARE.COM should be interested to know that the GOP gubernatorial nominee in Massachusetts, Lieutenant Gov.  Kerry Healey, is running hard on immigration reform.

I'm involved with the campaign and I know for a fact that she's going to push cracking down on illegals.  Her opponent, Democrat Deval Patrick, was a civil rights attorney in the Clinton Administration and is as open borders as they come. The clueless Patrick favors driver's licenses and in-state tuition for illegal aliens. [ "Healy Urges Tougher Stance on Hiring Illegal Immigrants, Russell Nichols, Boston Globe, September 24, 2006]

This is liberal Massachusetts and the nominee is no "angry white man."  She's a rich Harvard grad and has a Ph.D. from Trinity College, Dublin.  Healey has all the credentials that open borders elites love.  But Healey's internal campaign polls confirm that people in Massachusetts are unhappy about immigration. Of course, you don't need polls; common sense tells you as much.

I never cease to be amazed at how few politicians realize that championing immigration reform is a great way to get elected.

Richer's previous letters to VDARE.COM about Massachusetts and its immigration policy are here and here.
