Katy track star dies from stab wounds, click2houston.com, December 22, 2011.

AUSTIN, Texas - A track star from Katy died Thursday after being stabbed in downtown Austin. Austin police said Morton High School graduate Fatima Barrie, 21, a junior biology major and track-and-field athlete at Huston-Tillotson University, was stabbed during a fight on Dec. 4 outside a downtown Austin bar.

I lived in Austin some 20 years ago.

 The number of murders in the city back then could be counted on one hand.  The majority of the murders involved domestic disputes.

Now the murder rate has spiraled upwards thanks to blacks and Mexicans.

Why is this?

James Fulford writes: The answer is usually covered by the euphemism “demographics”—see the case of Detroit. In Austin’s case, however it’s not that the racial ratio has changed so much—Austin is still whiter than a lot of cities—as that the city has become so much larger.

Austin is, according to Wikipedia,  “the fourth-largest city in Texas and the 14th most populous city in the United States. It was the third-fastest-growing large city in the nation from 2000 to 2006.” In  1990, when Mr. Chaillet lived there, there were 472, 000 people. In 2010, there were 790, 000 so all kinds of problems  automatically have gotten worse.

I mention this because population is one of the things that Wall Street Journal doesn’t want us to worry about.
