Following up on yesterday's post about Crystal Mangum, the stripper who falsely accused three Duke University lacrosse players of rape, The New York Times finally posted a dispatch from The Associated Press. The Washington Post followed suit. The cops nailed Mangum for attempted murder and arson. Mangum achieved international fame, and the single-minded devotion of the New York Times, with her nakedly false, Tawana-Brawley-like tale of terror at the hands of mean white boys.[VDARE.com note: This is actually the first time Ms. Mangum has been mentioned by name in the Times, since the Times was following the protocol that the rape victims should be shielded from publicity. Our position is that Ms. Mangum is not the victim, but the victimizer.]
Next question: Will the papers devote the same level of microscopic coverage to this event as they did Mangum's flatly ridiculous charges?
Or need we ask?
