Just about every issue you can think of has an immigration component to it. Many of those things that liberals hold dear are not possible with an open border. Universal healthcare? If you don’t control your border, you make it free for everyone from around the world who can get here. However, money doesn’t grow on trees and it’s impossible to pay for.
Better education? With class size increasing and more kids who don’t speak English, it becomes a drain on resources and takes away from the English-speaking native born.
Taxes? If you are for higher taxes, let me send a few thousand illegal aliens your way.
Overpopulation? That used to be something we were warned of in the 1970s. They even had Saturday morning cartoons warning of overpopulation. Now, we seem to embrace unlimited population so long as that population is poor and brown.
That will increase pollution and everything else.
Trust me, if you ever go to the border areas with Mexico, you will realize the new arrivals don’t care about pollution. That’s not one of their issues.

Oh the horror, are we returning to the days of children in mines?
Liberals might be outraged about child exploitation, but they leave out that it is immigrant children doing this. The customs and ways of the old country are taken to the new country.
That’s not to mention the corruption.
The Handbook of Texas Online describes the post WWII period of grower exploitation of wetback labor:
Graft and corruption on both sides of the border enriched many Mexican officials as well as unethical “coyote“ freelancers in the United States who promised contracts in Texas for the unsuspecting bracero.
When Operation Wetback was implemented, it was discovered that a lot of the Border Patrol was corrupt, too. BP Chiefs protected their rancher friends and the big agricultural growers.
Although there is little to no record of this operation in Ike’s official papers, one piece of historic evidence indicates how he felt. In 1951, Ike wrote a letter to Sen. William Fulbright (D) of Arkansas. The senator had just proposed that a special commission be created by Congress to examine unethical conduct by government officials who accepted gifts and favors in exchange for special treatment of private individuals.
General Eisenhower, who was gearing up for his run for the presidency, said “Amen” to Senator Fulbright’s proposal. He then quoted a report in The New York Times, highlighting one paragraph that said:
“The rise in illegal border-crossing by Mexican ‘wetbacks’ to a current rate of more than 1,000,000 cases a year has been accompanied by a curious relaxation in ethical standards extending all the way from the farmer-exploiters of this contraband labor to the highest levels of the Federal Government.”

Let alone the fact that they actually used the term “Wetback” instead of undocumented alien, or future Democratic voter.)
Currently, with our open border, I see a return to the corruption of the old days. Maybe not in the Border Patrol, yet, but certainly with ruthless employers. Where are the good liberals now?
