See, earlier: The “Leaded Law” And Mass Shootings—Poor Black Marksmanship Is Saving Lives
As I’ve noted before, shootings in New York City are up (103%) this year over last far more than are murders (39%), suggesting that the marginal shooters’ marksmanship is rather marginal.
For example, this week last year, there were 8 people shot in New York City and 6 murders. (Not all murder victims are also shooting victims, but most are.) This week this year, 42 people were shot in NYC but there were only 3 murders.

Murders/shooting victims | 7% | 75% | 24% | 35% |
Amateur hour …
Seriously, this suggests a cultural change in NYC from serious murderers to spray down the place shooters. For much of this century, New York didn’t have a culture of shooting up the block party or funeral the way other American inner cities do. But now that’s over.
