Another example of what Obama can get away with without actually lying. In his Berlin speech he said

At the height of the Cold War, my father decided, like so many others in the forgotten corners of the world, that his yearning — his dream — required the freedom and opportunity promised by the West. And so he wrote letter after letter to universities all across America until somebody, somewhere answered his prayer for a better life.

That is why I’m here. And you are here because you too know that yearning. This city, of all cities, knows the dream of freedom.

Very good, but at no time does he say that his father, during the Cold War was on the other side.Steve Sailer has written this up in Barack Obama Sr.’s Mugabeist plan for Kenya, on this blog.

Kenya was a Cold War ally of the U.S. For example, Kenya boycotted the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games at President Jimmy Carter’s request, a bigger sacrifice for Kenya than most of other 28 countries that boycotted, since the Olympic running events provide Kenya with its main shot at glory on the international stage. The international prestige of Kenya’s first President, Jomo Kenyatta and Kenya’s relatively successful evolution, meant that Kenya’s “pro-capitalist” (in truth, crony capitalist) policies were a valuable counterexample during the Cold War struggle for hearts and minds of Third World countries.

No thanks, however, to Harvard-trained economist Barack Obama Sr., who consistently argued within Kenya’s elite for socialism and ditching the pro-American orientation.

For more details, (lots more details) see Barack Obama Hid His Father's Socialist And Anti-Western Convictions From His Readers by Greg Ransom of PrestoPundit, who has quotes from a paper Obama Sr. did in the Sixties called Problems Facing Our Socialism. [East Africa Journal, June 1965] Ransom's "Selections from the paper "Problems Facing Our Socialism" by Barack Obama, Sr.:" include

  • OBAMA [Sr.] ON COMMUNAL OWNERSHIP OF LAND
  • OBAMA [Sr.]ON A CLASSLESS SOCIETY
  • OBAMA [Sr.] ON THE NATIONALIZATION OF PRIVATE ENTERPRISE
  • OBAMA [Sr.] ON THE CONFISCATION OF PROPERTY OWNED BY KENYANS OF ASIAN AND EUROPEAN DECENT
  • OBAMA [Sr.] ON 100% TAXATION
  • OBAMA [Sr.] ON MARX AND TAXATION
  • OBAMA [Sr.] ON THE POLICY OF "NON-ALIGNMENT"

Steve Sailer wrote that "In short, the Presidential frontrunner’s father’s policy views were similar to Robert Mugabe’s."So, I repeat—Obama Sr. was on the other side in the Cold War, and his "dream of freedom" led him to leave Kenya, which was capitalist, for Harvard, which was socialist. Obama should not be using him at the Brandenburg Gate as a symbol of freedom.
