Earlier: The ”Leaded Law” And Mass Shootings—Poor Black Marksmanship Is Saving Lives
A recent mass shooting in Alabama is an instance of what we call the ”Leaded Law,” proposed by a blogger called Ben Kurtz, which is that if you hear that a mass shooting has a large number of wounded, and a small number of killed, then the shooters were probably black, because blacks can’t shoot very well.
Kurtz put it this way:
So here’s a handy rule of thumb when you hear about the next mass shooting and find the press being coy about who did it and why: If the shooters exhibit bad aim (substantially worse than 1 killed for every 3 wounded) then they are Black gangsters settling a score.
The Mahogany Masterpiece Dance Studio is a black dance studio for black kids in Dadeville, AL, which is 45.08% black.
A recent shooting there, reported in the Daily Mail, is being treated by some people as a gun control story.

The Daily Mail has no pictures of victims, but they report that one exists, that they decline to print, for reasons of decency, and because it’s unconfirmed:
At least four people are killed and more than 20 injured during a shooting at a Sweet 16 party in small Alabama town of 3,000 people—after fight broke out inside small dance studio
- The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday in Dadeville, Alabama
- The majority of the victims are thought to be teens, according to local reports
- A photo circulating online appears to show six people lying on the venue’s floor
I haven’t seen this photo myself, but this person has, and they say they were black teens:
So this shooting is a black-on-black affair, and as for the alleged inhumanity of the poster, any witness who snapped a picture and posted it would have been black themselves.
So this is a story of poor black self-control turning lethal—but not as lethal as it would if blacks could shoot well.
