Actuary Mary Pat Campbell drew up this graph from age-adjusted CDC traffic fatality data showing that until the racial reckoning, the sex gap in dying on the roads was much greater than the race gap. You can see the Ferguson Effect in 2015-16 and the Floyd Effect in 2020.
Note that this is not per mile driven, but per person. My guess would be that whites drive a lot more than blacks per person, what with long commutes and being more rural.
But still...
The least trustworthy blacks tend to live in underclass inner city neighborhoods and take public transportation. And even urban poor blacks don’t have all that much of a culture of speeding, more of one of cruising slowly around the hood so everybody can see that you have a car.
