The State of Colorado has decided to hire illegal aliens, and other aliens, to police Americans. With the ongoing problems with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) becoming a political police and engaging in illegal investigations of Americans, especially for their political beliefs, the government needs more people to police speech and illegal aliens fit the bill.
Colorado’s immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have temporary legal status or those who have applied for asylum could soon work as armed police officers in the state.
Gov. Jared Polis signed HB23-1143 into law on Thursday, allowing the state’s Peace Officers Standards and Training board to establish rules for people with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status and asylum seekers to become certified peace officers or reserve officers. That means police and sheriff’s departments can change their firearms policies to allow eligible immigrants employed as law enforcement officers to carry guns and allow those eligible to attend training academies.

Both asylum applicants and Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals are and remain illegal aliens. Neither group are aliens admitted for Lawful Permanent Residence (LPR), nor have been admitted as refugees or asylees, the three categories of aliens who are authorized unrestricted employment in the United States.
The legal question is about which aliens can possess firearms in the United States. Federal law prohibits illegal aliens from possessing firearms.
The Gun Control Act (GCA), codified at 18 U.S.C. § 922(g), makes it unlawful for certain categories of persons to ship, transport, receive, or possess firearms or ammunition, to include any person:
who is an illegal alien;
Identify Prohibited Persons, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, And Explosives (BATFE)
And DACA recipients remain illegal aliens according to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the cabinet department of which the ATFE is a component.
As has historically been true of deferred action, these proposed deferred action programs would not “legalize” any aliens who are unlawfully present in the United States: Deferred action does not confer any lawful immigration status, nor does it provide a path to obtaining permanent residence or citizenship. Grants of deferred action under the proposed programs would, rather, represent DHS’s decision not to seek an alien’s removal for a prescribed period of time.

The article claims there is some exemption for police officers, but does not cite that exemption.
Colorado was able to pass the new law because of a federal exception allowing the practice. Although law enforcement leaders worried about what would happen to their officers if the federal government decided to remove the exception, the state law’s proponents have said that as more states and police departments rely on immigrants in these positions, it would become more difficult for the federal government to end it.
There is no exemption and there is case law on the issue. Even the Treason Bar agrees that DACA recipients cannot possess firearms.
Those who claim there is an exemption are just lying, including RINOs.
GOP Rep. Ryan Armagost of Berthoud signed on as a sponsor after talking to the police chief in Greeley, who he said couldn’t hire “probably the best applicant he ever had” because of the candidate’s citizenship status. Armagost told committee members that he served with DACA recipients in the military who were able to carry firearms, so he was glad to extend that to police agencies as well.
In fact, DACA illegals who illegally joined the military under the MANVI program are being discharged and DACA illegals, like all other illegals, are denied enlistment in the military.
Currently, DACA recipients are barred from joining the armed forces. The Fight for the American Dream Act reverses that. Similarly, for DACA recipients who are honorably discharged after their service, the Act creates a pathway to permanent residence status. The bill also comes at a time of historic recruitment shortfalls across the United States Armed Forces.

So, there is no special authorization for DACA and other illegal aliens, despite having illegally obtained employment authorization, to possess firearms. Just one more reason to end the lie that is DACA.
