With each passing month, it seems that historically liberal cities and states inch ever closer to delivering reparations payments to Black Americans, and San Francisco’s African American Reparations Advisory Committee has submitted a 59-page plan to do just that. In their list of 114 action items for reparations, the very first recommendation is that each eligible Black San Franciscan should receive a lump sum payment of $5 million in order to “compensate the affected population for the decades of harm that they have experienced.”

And in case all of that money is spent like in the 2003 Dave Chapelle sketch, Blacks in San Francisco will enjoy supplemented income for at least the next 250 years. The second action item for reparation put forth by the Reparations Advisory Committee recommends raising the income of Blacks to the Area Median Income of $97,000. 

The eligibility checklist is extremely lenient. To receive reparations, Black San Franciscans will simply need to have “identified” as Black on public documents for 10 years, be 18-years or older, and show two supporting documents detailing their history in the area.

Notably, one eligibility item specifically pertains to Blacks who have been “incarcerated by the failed War on Drugs,” or in other words, drug dealers.
