British patriot Sam Melia attracted U.S. shock recently when he was scandalously sentenced to prison for downloadable stickers saying “It’s OK to Be White.” But while Americans congratulate themselves on their First Amendment, these atrocities are in fact already Happening Here. For example—the young man in Oklahoma who posted “It’s Okay to Be White” flyers at his law school in 2019.
In 2019 our Anonymous Attorney blogged White Law Student Discovers It’s Not OK To Be White At Oklahoma City University, December 10, 2019.
That was based on a post at snarky law blog Above the Law:
Student Expelled After Posting ‘IT’S OKAY TO BE WHITE’ Flyers At Law School
Kudos to the dean for handling a disgusting situation in the most gracious way.By Staci Zaretsky [Tweet her], Above The Law, December 10, 2019
The student was expelled for these flyers:
And here’s the message (via Above The Law) that law school dean Jim Roth [Email him] sent, expelling the student:
This morning, our administrative team was alerted to the presence of flyers around the law school campus. I want to thank every student, staff, and faculty member who took the time to remove them and bring them to our attention. We are currently in the process of investigating this matter and hope to have this resolved quickly.
In the meantime, I want to address the message that was posted. As you may have noticed, OCU Law has been intentional and relentless in celebrating the voices, achievements, and culture of our diverse community. We enjoyed celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, LGBTQ+ History Month, Dia de los Muertos, and are excited to kick off Native American Heritage Month. And we will continue to celebrate our diverse community throughout the year.
Despite what the intentions of that message may have been, the message reminds me of one fact that I know our community embraces—it’s okay to be EVERYBODY. Exclusion and hate will not be tolerated here. You are accepted at OCU Law no matter how you pray, what you look like, or who you love. And you always will be.
Well, is it OKAY to be white—or not?
No members of the other identity groups were expelled.
The one bright spot for the former law student—his name wasn’t published in the press:
Federal law prevents OCU from identifying the student in connection to disciplinary action, but Citty said the student is not considered a physical threat to the campus.
Suspended student expelled after posting ”IT’S OKAY TO BE WHITE” flyers at OCU, by Nuria Martinez-Keel, The Oklahoman, December 10, 2019
Let’s have a brief word about “It’s Okay to Be White.” The Oklahoman story above says
The phrase originated on the internet chat forum 4chan and has been promoted by white supremacist groups, according to the Anti-Defamation League, an anti-hate organization.
I don’t think any of that is true: that 4chan is where it started, or that any group that “promoted” it can reasonably be called “white supremacist.” And I know for a fact that the Anti-Defamation League is not an “anti-hate” organization—the number of people, ideas, facts, and even integers they hate is very large.
In fact, the ADL does have It’s Okay to Be White in its database of what they call “Hate Slogans/Slang Terms” in which they say that while people had been saying this before 2017, it was “popularized in late 2017 as a trolling campaign by members of the controversial discussion forum 4chan” and that the members assumed that “liberals” would react negatively to such fliers and condemn them or take them down, thus “proving” that liberals did not even think it was “okay” to be white.”
Well, that’s exactly what happened. The ADL is saying it’s not okay to be white. Steve Sailer and others have noted many instances of authorities reacting as if a crime had been committed when someone said “It’s Okay to Be White”:
In 2018, I noted that some laminated signs had shown up in Target: MSM Freakout Over ”It’s OK To Be White” In The Diaper Aisle In Target—and the employee who put them in was fired.
And in in 2019, I noted that Western Connecticut State was promising to persecute the students who had said the phrase, causing law professor Glenn Reynolds, who runs Instapundit to say:
November 7, 2019
HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE: Western Connecticut State puts itself at legal risk by promising to punish ‘It’s OK to be white’ perps. Want to make white nationalism a thing? Because this is how you make white nationalism a thing.
In my post at the time, I explained that “It’s Okay to Be White” was not a threat or a crime, it was a linguistic trap for anti-whites to fall into. If you condemn ”It’s OK to be white” you’re saying it’s not okay to be white, and it’s not OK to say it—although blacks are always saying, and being encouraged to say, ”Black Lives Matter.”
The posting of the “It’s Okay to Be White” at OCU was a protest by a student who had already, incredibly, been suspended for expressing a racial preference on a dating site—which is normal, and also not a crime—details at the Daily Mail, below.

Oklahoma law school student is questioned by FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and expelled for posting ’It’s Okay to be White’ flyers on campus, by Snejana Farberov, December 12, 2019
The Daily Mail says the student told an interviewer that
…he had been questioned by an agent with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force about the flyers.
The student said the federal official, whom he characterized as a ’good dude,’ reassured him that he committed no crime.
That’s true, but when this student, who has good LSAT scores, tried to go to another law school, whether conservative schools like Ave Maria in Florida, or even the kind of bottom-ranked schools known derisively as “Third Tier Toilets,” he found that none of them would take him.
While his name was never made public, apparently all the law schools know. HOW?
And while, unlike Sam Melia, he hasn’t gone to jail, he has been unable to find any kind of work in his chosen field.
The people who think it’s not okay to be white have ruined him.
You can listen to him on Ethan Ralph’s KillStream podcast here or below, in the fifth hour, specifically at the 5:03.41 mark:
He has a wife and baby, and he’s employed at an unspecified job to support them, but he’s going through rough times and could use your support.
He has a GiveSendGo site at which he’s trying to raise money for himself and his family: https://www.givesendgo.com/IOTBW which stands for “Is It Okay to Be White?” and he’s on Twitter at @basedfaithteev.
He writes:
With my hat in hand and a belly full of the pride I’ve swallowed to open this campaign, I am humbly asking anyone and everyone who can to please donate whatever you can. Anything helps.
We are not going on a lavish vacation, we are not padding our already comfy lifestyle. We are hurting and desperate, and every month a new crisis emerges dragging us deeper into financial ruin.
The strain all of this has caused to our young marriage has been enormous, and the resulting loss of confidence I have in myself as a provider, as a husband and father, has been devastating.
God bless my wife, she is truly a Saint and has stuck with me through everything. I want to take some of the burden off of her shoulders, let her quit her job so she can raise our daughter, and let her rest easily knowing we are no longer one unexpected expense away from losing everything.
I am asking for donations so that I can finally make things right and put my family on track to a respectable future that isn’t perpetually threatened by imminent homelessness.
Please consider donating anything you can, even a dollar, or at least share this campaign so others might donate.
Please remember that this can happen to anyone in America—in spite of the First Amendment—and give.
