A Reader Argues That BBC Malfeasance Over Immigration Is Worse Than Anything Done By Murdoch

The current dust-up in Britain concerning Rupert Murdoch's employees’ illegal use of phone taps concerns a serious breach of journalistic ethics, but the pound of flesh will be exacted: two top officials in Murdoch's organization have already submitted their resignations. In my judgment, however, that will not change the British tabloid tradition a farthing.

For those interested in patriotic immigration reform in Britain, however, The Daily Mail, another British tabloid, (non-Murdoch) may be the only source of accurate information and reporting on the subject; clearly, the BBC is not.

On July 7, 2011The Daily Mail published an interview with the BBC's Director General, Mark Thompson. He admitted that, although the BBC has a duty to address "sensitive and difficult" issues, "...I think there were some years when the BBC, like the rest of the UK media, was very reticent about talking about immigration." [BBC director-general admits: We DID fail to address 'taboo' subjects like immigration]

Further, Green acknowledged that, in the political campaigns of 2010, the BBC had been guilty of "massive Left-wing bias", which included, of course, non-reporting of the impact of Third World immigration on Britain. Fancy that.

The same day, The Daily Mail editorialized: "Most shamefully, in league with the Labour Party, it (BBC) has conspired to silence any sensible debate on immigration with the crimes of racism or bigotry."

Sound familiar?

I have no doubt that the Murdoch people guilty of journalistic malfeasance will be punished; as I noted, some already have. But will the ethical and journalistic lapses of BBC program directors suffer a similar fate?

If you think they will or may, I urge you to think again.
