Reading Brenda Walker’s account of the lamentations of the Irish government that so many Irish are unable to work in the U.S. made me, as an Irish-American (pre-potato famine variety), smile with the irony of it all.
Prior to the Immigration Act of 1965, the quota available for legal Irish immigrants always went unfilled. They can thank fellow tribe member Ted Kennedy for the present situation.
