Way back in the mid-twentieth century, Curtis Lemay, an Air Force General thought he might run for President.  This led someone at National Review, probably Buckley, to write in NR’s  Notes And Asides of Lemay’s presidential ambitions that “If he had some ham, he could have a ham sandwich—if he had some bread.” (I’m writing from memory—NR doesn’t put their archives online like we do.)

But Lemay was a full general who had led the Eighth Air Force bombing Germany,  in World War II, and then firebombed Tokyo. After the war, he developed the SAC into an effective nuclear deterrent, and finished his career as USAF Chief of Staff. His presidential ambitions may have been improbable, but they weren’t ridiculous. (Lemay  was  George Wallace’s third-party running mate in 1968, when the pair of them won 13.5 percent of the popular vote.)

Bill Kristol’s #NeverTrump candidate David French, however, is a Major in the Reserves, who served in Iraq for one year—as a lawyer. [6 Things to Know About Prospective Third-Party Candidate David French, By Veronica Stracqualursi, June 2, 2016]

He’s also a weepy cuckservative who tweets things like this:

That is while Trump supporters are literally bleeding, frequently unprotected by the police. French’s political experience, aside from his private practice as a lawyer, consists of cuckservative whinging at National Review.

When the Donald Trump posted his immigration plan, I did a blog post headed Trump Posts Immigration Plan, Neocons Go A Little Crazy. It appears Kristol has gone a lot crazy.

The only way this makes sense is that Kristol hopes to drive normal people as crazy with this as Trump makes him. (It's working,  a little—I was tempted to head this post "I can't even".)

But it's not the same thing—Trump is maddening to neocons because he's dangerous to their political influence in a way that Hillary really isn't.  This is just pathetic.
