Unlike the well-informed readers of the Daily Mail, New York Times’ subscribers who don’t read carefully deep into this racially ambiguous article are likely to take away the impression that this Arkansas “shootout” at this eerily empty Wild West–looking locale ruled by a sheriff is yet another mass shooting by white Trump-voting rednecks, just like they are always doing.
