George Will's tribute to Gene McCarthy includes this:

The case against New Hampshire's primary is that its power is disproportionate for a state so unrepresentative of America's demographic complexities. May I say that McCarthy's is not the first name that springs to my mind when I think of New Hampshire?

But what does Mr. Will mean when he says "unrepresentative of America's demographic complexities.?"

Quick, the Census! Oh, I see. New Hampshire is 95 percent white. Can't have that, can we?
