A bill working its way through the California State Senate looks to allow non-U.S. citizens — potentially including illegal immigrants — to become law enforcement officers in the state. The law appears to be just the latest attempt by California Democrats to not only remove penalties for those who break the law by illegally entering the United States, but open up opportunities for those who may not have legal status in the United States. 

SB 960, introduced by Senator Nancy Skinner  [a far-Left white Democrat] — who represents Senate District 9 encompassing Oakland, Berkeley, and Richmond on the east side of San Francisco Bay — is straightforward in what it changes about current requirements regarding employment as a sworn officer of the law.

As it stands now, California law "requires peace officers in this state to meet specified minimum standards, including, among other requirements, being at least 18 years of age, being of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation, and being either a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship."[The CHP recruitment website currently just says "Be a US Citizen".]

But Senator Skinner wants to change that to "remove the provision that requires peace officers to either be a citizen of the United States or be a permanent resident who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship."

The drive to recruit non-white, even non-Americans for the California Highway Patrol is nothing new. In his 1992 book Paved With Good Intentions (now on Kindle), Jared Taylor wrote (p. 197) that

What started out as compensation for black slavery and segregation has become automatic preference for any nonwhite and an automatic handicap for any white. What but an utterly mechanical search for nonwhite faces can explain that the California Highway Patrol has advertised job vacancies in Mexico in the hope of meeting affirmative action goals for Hispanics? In its extreme manifestations, affirmative action seems nothing short of hysterical.

His source for that was Frederick R. Lynch's 1992  Invisible Victims, p. 26, where Lynch quoted this story:

The California Highway Patrol has reached into Mexico to beef up its minority recruitment programs. An advertisement for job candidates appeared in the Tijuana-based "El mexicano," a Spanish-language newspaper that also circulates in the United States. CHP spokesman Dan Parker said a person does not have to be an American citizen to be in the patrol, but must be a legal resident of California. "We are under-represented in Hispanic patrol persons," he said.
