If the illegals were convicted just months ago, then local authorities had them in custody. That invites the obvious question of why ICE had to catch them. Answer: Most likely, local authorities ignored ICE detainers and released them. That happens all the time, with predictable results.

ICE has not released its report for fiscal 2022. In 2021, agents arrested 12,025 illegals with aggravated felony convictions. Those offenses include “1,506 homicide related offenses, 3,415 sexual assaults, 19,549 assaults, 2,717 robberies and 1,063 kidnappings.”

ICE explained how the deportations are handled:

Noncitizens placed into removal proceedings receive their legal due process from federal immigration judges in immigration courts. … Immigration judges in these courts make decisions based on the merits of each individual case. ICE officers carry out the removal decisions made by the federal immigration judges.

What?! Illegal aliens convicted of rape, child molestation, and other crimes aren’t summarily removed, but instead receive “due process?!” They aren’t citizens.
