The driver accused of killing a Highland High School girl in a 2008 collision has been sentenced to 14 years in prison with credit for time served, and four years of probation - the maximum sentence allowed under terms of his plea agreement.Channel 12 TV News in Phoenix did a stunning interview with Kelly's mother, Cindy Kelly. The show aired while the Suns Basketball team and Al Sharpton were condemning the bill and wearing snarky "Los Suns" shirts. Unfortunately there isn't a text transcript version of this excellent news report that aired on Channel 12 TV news in Arizona.Manuel Contreras-Galdean, 33, signed an agreement last year in which he pleaded guilty to one count each of manslaughter and aggravated assault for the Nov. 15, 2008, collision that led to the death of Kelly Tracy, 16, of Mesa, and injured her brother, Matthew Tracy, then 17, as he was driving them to Highland High, Maricopa County Superior Court records show.

Grieving Mother Praises SB 1070
Cindy Tracy voiced strong support for the Arizona Immigration Law SB 1070 because with that law in place it's probable that her daughter's life would have been spared because Galdean wouldn't have been allowed to stay in the United States.
One point that wasn't made in the interview is that cities in Arizona that have sanctuary policies for illegal aliens will be held accountable for their reckless behavior. This is perhaps one of the least discussed but most powerful sections of SB 1070:
Section 11-1051 G. A PERSON MAY BRING AN ACTION IN SUPERIOR COURT TO CHALLENGE ANY OFFICIAL OR AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE THAT ADOPTS OR IMPLEMENTS A POLICY THAT LIMITS OR RESTRICTS THE ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAWS TO LESS THAN THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY FEDERAL LAW. IF THERE IS A JUDICIAL FINDING THAT AN ENTITY HAS VIOLATED THIS SECTION, THE COURT SHALL ORDER ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: 1. THAT THE PERSON WHO BROUGHT THE ACTION RECOVER COURT COSTS AND ATTORNEY FEES. 2. THAT THE ENTITY PAY A CIVIL PENALTY OF NOT LESS THAN ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NOT MORE THAN FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR EACH DAY THAT THE POLICY HAS REMAINED IN EFFECT AFTER THE FILING OF AN ACTION PURSUANT TO THIS SUBSECTION.With laws like this in place, families like the Kellys, victims of the Chandler Serial Rapist, and the remaining members of the Bologna family in San Francisco will be able to sue the cities for damages.H. A COURT SHALL COLLECT THE CIVIL PENALTY PRESCRIBED IN SUBSECTION G AND REMIT THE CIVIL PENALTY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR DEPOSIT IN THE GANG AND IMMIGRATION INTELLIGENCE TEAM ENFORCEMENT MISSION FUND ESTABLISHED BY SECTION 41-1724.
As you all know by now, San Francisco is leading the pack of wolves that threaten to boycott Arizona as punishment for SB 1070. It's not clear who they think they are hurting since any type of boycott they could do would hurt the employers that hire Hispanics the most — hospitality, restaurants, tourism etc.
SF couches their moral outrage as a civil rights issue — but there may be far darker motives. In my opinion SF is in a frenzy to stop SB 1070 before somebody in California gets the same idea. Call it coincidence but San Francisco police Chief George Gascon has done much more than grovel to Muslims — before that he was the Chief of Police in Mesa, Arizona at the time of Kelly Tracy's death. Gascon never voiced remorse over Mesa's sanctuary policies and the city has never been held accountable for this travesty. SF and Gascon are circling the wagons in defense because they know the ugly truth is catching up with them!
