I think, as Richard Hoste has argued, that it's far more likely to turn out to be a case of entrapment by some ambitious prosecutor trying to please his/her political masters.
Tonight I see this WaPo headline: Mich. militia members cleared of charges that accused them of plotting war against government, AP, March 27, 2009.
Defense lawyer Michael Rataj is quoted saying of U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts (a Clinton appointee, let the record show): "There are very few judges that have this kind of courage."
I say: Hutaree yipee!
