This week I give the full Radio Derb treatment to the ructions in New York City following the grand jury decision in the Eric Garner case.
Those events came to a head December 20th, as I relate:
The Saturday before Christmas, two New York City cops were shot dead, from behind, while sitting in their patrol car—“execution style,” as the tabloids say.I frame it all as an episode in the Cold Civil War between good white people and bad white people.The killer was a 28-year-old black man, surname Brinsley, forename one of those unpronouncable alphabet-soup concoctions that radical blacks give their kids so as to put as much cultural distance as possible between the child and the hated white culture.
There was for example that big demonstration in the city on December 13th—the Saturday before the killings—when two different cops were beaten up by demonstrators:
There was good surveillance coverage of the march, and the cops fortunately survived, so identifying the perps in those assaults was pretty easy. Several arrests were made in the days that followed.I note with interest from this morning’s Daily News that yet another of the December 13th cop-beaters has been taken into police custody since I posted Radio Derb. What’s his name? Jamal Marzuq al-Tayyib Washington? Kareem Ngbendu Wa Za Banga? Nah-uh.The names of the people arrested are easy to pronounce, much easier than TrayvonDeAndreJamelle Brinsley’s.
There was for example Eric Linkser, a 29-year-old white guy who is a professor of English at the City University of New York. Then there’s Cindy Gorn, also white and also 29, a Columbia University grad student. Then we have Rob Murray, 43 years old and yes, white as the driven snow, a union organizer. Oh, here’s another one: Zachary Campbell, 32 years old and, sure enough, as white as those alabaster cities that gleam on the fruited plain. Mr Campbell, when not kicking policemen in the head, is a graduate student and instructor in Spanish at Rutgers University.
A few more incidents like this and our prestige universities are going to come up seriously short on teaching staff.
I wouldn’t want to leave you with the impression that there was no diversity at all among the marchers arrested for beating up cops on the Brooklyn Bridge December 13th. The estranged wife of the aforementioned arrestee Zachary Campbell was also arrested. Her name is Maria Garcia, and she is what the New York Times style book would like me to describe as a “white Hispanic.” In her day job Ms Garcia, 36 years old, is a program co-ordinator at the Queens Museum of Art.
And the two cops who were victims of the assault also showed a smidgen of diversity. One of them was Lt. Patrick Sullivan, a name about as stereotypically New York City cop as it could possibly be. The other, however, and in fact the more seriously injured of the two, was Lt. Philip Chan, of Chinese ancestry.
I’m not totally clear about what the Social Justice line is on white college professors and art museum bureaucrats beating up Asian-American policemen. I’m sure it somehow illustrates the righteous revenge of the oppressed laboring masses against their class enemies, but I can’t quite fathom the logic. Perhaps someone could clarify this for me.
On the whole, though, those minor fragments of diversity aside, this was, as I said, another battle in the Cold Civil War of good whites against bad whites.
