The commemoration of the Mostly Peaceful Protest of January 6, 2021 is too important for just one day. We need Congress to declare a “January 6th History Month,” or maybe a January 6th History Quarter that runs through March every year. Or perhaps channeling January 6th into any part of the calendar is a Threat to Our Democracy, so we should have ongoing never-ending year-round blanket headline coverage like that of Emmett Till (who, in case you missed it, is all over the news 67 years after his tragic death) and of long-ago Hair-Touching Incidents.
