Damage control is in full swing on the left to try to protect President Obama from the consequences of his astonishingly aggressive slighting of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday. The facts of the situation are well stated by James C. Dobson:
The founder and chairman emeritus of the Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family said...that for the first time since 1993, the White House did not even send a representative of the Cabinet to this year’s National Day of Prayer event, which was held Thursday in the caucus room of the Cannon House Office Building.
“Bill Clinton did, during his eight years,” he said. “It goes clear on back to Ronald Reagan, who signed the order making the first Thursday of May the National Day of Prayer.
Dobson: Super Bowl Teams Welcome at White House, but 'Celebrating Prayer is Ignored’

So this goes beyond not following the GWB example of hosting a Prayer meeting in the White House itself.
The amazingly lightweight MediaMatters For America is having hysterics because Wendy Wright, of Concerned Women for America, quite reasonably linked the question to Obama’s peculiarly provocative remarks on the place of Christianity in America on his recent visit to Turkey.
So far no one seems to have remembered the suppression of Christian symbols during his speech at Georgetown last month.
Georgetown University Covers Catholic Identity During Obama Speech BY ERIN MAGUIRE, THE BULLETIN

My view is that the explanation for all this is perfectly simple, and is obvious to anyone who has read Steve Sailer’s America’s Half Blood Prince. Obama dislikes America, Americans, and anything redolent of America such as public respect for Christianity. Furthermore he has no religious impulses himself.
Steve devoted two chapters of AHBP to Obama’s approach to religion, Chapter 8 Making a Religion out of Race and Chapter 9 Rev. Dr Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. The conclusion: the only thing Obama feels about (other than himself) is race. Wright’s “Trinity United Church Of Christ“ is exclusively about Black Identity. Other than that,
“Obama...from an early age, has had little spiritual inclination, as the term is commonly understood.”
(AHBP P144).
Of course it was a frightful failure of the Republican Establishment to let such an alien into the White House.
But the good news is that Obama and the hate-driven crowd around him simply will not be able to stop insulting America until they are thrown out. His administration is indeed, in its own way, going to play like a 4-year O.J. Simpson trial.
For my own part, I would like to understand the reasoning by which the White House concluded they could deride the National Day of Prayer, yet hold the first White House Seder?
