Re: A Talk Radio Listener Says Trump Lawyer Sidney Powell Is A Victim Of Lawfare—Like VDARE.com

Another lawfare success.
Kenneth Chesebro pleaded guilty to illegally conspiring to overturn Trump’s 2020 election loss in Georgia, striking a deal in which he will avoid jail time and agreed to provide evidence that could implicate other defendants, including Trump himself. https://t.co/WIsy9PhzQL

Kenneth Chesebro was a lawyer who furnished legal advice to clients, including Al Gore and Trump. Like Sidney Powell, he almost certainly would have won eventually after losing a long, expensive jury trial before a mostly black jury and appealing all the way to the Supreme Court. That is, if he had $3 million to spend on legal fees.
Chesebro pleaded guilty to a single felony count of conspiracy to file false documents, and faces a prison sentence of one to five years. He also agreed to truthfully testify in the case against others.
Trump co-defendant Kenneth Chesebro pleads guilty in Georgia election case
Chesebro became the second former Trump lawyer to plead guilty in as many days, following Sidney Powell on Thursday.

I've never heard of the crime of ”conspiracy to file false documents.” In fact, I can't recall a prosecution anywhere for filing false documents. Actual false documents, as well as papers prepared by a lawyer who in good faith believed them to be true, i.e., the type of documents in this case, are filed every day in every state.
More from the Washington Post:
Through his attorneys, Chesebro claimed he was merely offering legal opinions to his client, the Trump campaign, and unsuccessfully argued to block memos and other emails he sent to Republicans across the country and others working on the Trump campaign from being used at trial.
Chesebro lost two key motions the day before his plea, one to exclude all his communications on the premise that they were confidential under attorney-client privilege. Those procedural defeats could have set the stage for the plea deal.
It's impossible for an enemy to win any motion, no matter how obviously correct.
If a lawyer working for the Democrats or the radical Left were charged with a crime for providing legal advice (not that that has ever happened), he would be furnished legal representation of the highest caliber at no charge that could include law school clinics and pro bono representation by giant law firms. His family would be supported during the process by GoFundMe donations. However, Trump's lawyers are completely on their own, and they are banned from GoFundMe. They have to accept preposterous plea deals to avoid being bankrupted by the Left's lawfare.

James Fulford writes: I'll repeat what I said in response to the previous letter. The main purpose of prosecuting ”election deniers” is to create a chilling effect on anyone who questions a stolen election. The purpose of Letitia James’s attack on VDARE.com [see Peter Brimelow’s VDARE.com FACING MORTAL THREAT! NY Attorney General Letitia James Mugs Us (As Well As Donald Trump, NRA etc.)] is to suppress Dissident Right journalism. I have no idea how much Powell’s legal ordeal has cost her, but I do know VDARE.com’s legal expenses are considerable. Readers are urged to donate to our legal defense fund here.
