On Sweden’s National Day, Tuesday June 6th, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson published on Aftonbladet (one of the country’s top five websites) a dramatic essay which might well signify a watershed in Europe’s so far catastrophic “Refugee” policies.

Calling his proposals
a radical shift in the country’s migration policy

Kristersson added encouraging specifics:
”A ‘no’ to asylum means ‘no’ and you have to leave the country. That should be obvious, but it’s not,”
Kristersson explained the government will introduce a stronger focus on the Swedish language… All new arrivals will soon be required to have a good command of the Swedish language, and there will be a requirement for schools to be stricter on speaking Swedish in class and to scale down catering to other languages.

Experienced VDARE readers will be choking on a surge of skepticism for the reasons I laid out in Merkel negative on Multiculturalism: Vanishing American negative on Merkel. We have heard this before.

This Swedish news is “necessary but not sufficient.” If the country is to save itself, this stage has to be passed through. Maybe this is another lie. Maybe not.
The main reason for hope is the Sweden Democrats. Now the second largest party in Parliament, their support is essential for the Kristersson Administration. As The astonishing rise of the right-wing Sweden Democrats (by Sonya Angelica Diehn, DW.com, 09/15/2022) relates, their success is entirely due to championing patriotic immigration reform. And they seem prepared to throw their weight around as they did in April: Sweden Democrats Flag EU’s Plan To Obliterate Europe
Then there is the example of Denmark, which at present has the strictest E.U. immigration policy. As I detailed in Denmark Produces Immigration Patriot Leftist (!) Female (!!) Prime Minister. What Can U.S. Learn?, in the 2015 election the Danish People’s Party, their equivalent to the SDP surged. Then not only did the main Leftist party, the Social Democrats, promptly steal their policies, but when coming to power in 2019 they actually implemented them!
As leader of the center-right Moderate Party, Kristersson should find this much easier.
So, the country which has probably suffered worst from liberal immigration policies (How Sweden Became a Gangster's Paradise, by Peder Jensen, Gatestone Institute, June 2, 2023) says it is reversing them.
